Ever since she recorded Die sieben Todsünden for Deutsche Grammophon in 1994, Anne Sofie von Otter has made the work her own. She will team up with legendary Weill conductor HK Gruber and the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France on 15 November 2013 to deliver the goods again, along with a selection of Weill songs. Gruber will lead the orchestra in Kleine Dreigroschenmusik to complete the program. Gruber has been a Weill advocate for over thirty years, having led essential recordings of Die Dreigroschenoper and a number of shorter works. (Read his 1997 interview for the Kurt Weill Newsletter.) Two great artists performing Weill for one night only in the City of Lights. What could be finer?
