Orchestration
Instrumentation is indicated as follows:
The woodwinds are listed first, as a group of four numerals each separated by a period (e.g., 1.1.2.0). From left to right, flute, oboe, clarinet, and bassoon. Saxophones are written out as "alto sax," "tenor sax," etc.
The brass are listed second, in the same manner as woodwinds (e.g. 2.2.1.1). From left to right, French horn, trumpet, trombone, and tuba. Sometimes "tpt" is used for trumpet, and "tbn" for trombone.
Percussion, keyboard, and plucked instruments are listed third. Generally, each instrument is spelled out in full, or abbreviated by its first four letters (e.g., "timp" for "timpani"). Strings are listed last.
If the ensemble is small or unusual, instruments are indicated by common-sense abbreviations. Doublings are indicated by parentheses. Each group is separated by a semi-colon.

Because works are represented by different publishers around the world, it is essential for the user to determine both the relevant territory and the publisher for each work.
Address List of Publishers
A Note on Publishers
The range and variety of works within Weill's oeuvre and factors in his life and career necessarily contributed to complicated circumstances with respect to the publication of his works. For clarity and concision, current information regarding representation of performance rights and rental of materials is designated with sigla, for publisher names, and abbreviations for territories. In those cases where there are different agents and publishers for the same work, the publisher of the dramatic rights is specified to the left of the slash, while the publisher for rental of music material is designated to the right of the slash. Most stage works have different publishers in different territories.
N.B. The publisher listed in the catalogue entry is the principal publisher for the territory; however, in many cases publishers have assigned representation to certain agents for various territories; for example, in Germany, Schott Music acts as agent for Universal Edition (and as agent for European American Music Corporation).
