The Kurt Weill Foundation is delighted to sponsor three Kurt Weill/Lotte Lenya Artists this summer, each of whom is a finalist in the 2021 Lotte Lenya Competition.

The 2021 Kurt Weill/Lotte Lenya Artists are:

Taylor-Alexis DuPontKurt Weill/Lotte Lenya Apprentice Artist at Santa Fe Opera

Taylor-Alexis joins Sante Fe Opera’s Apprentice Program, which includes two KWF Trustee Award Winners from the 2020 Lenya Competition, and a total of 10 singers who have participated in the Competition.

Helen HuangKurt Weill/Lotte Lenya Young Artist at the Glimmerglass Festival

Helen will sing the role of Pamina in The Magic Flute, as part of the Young Artists Program at Glimmerglass.

Andrew PolecKurt Weill/Lotte Lenya Artist at the Old Globe Theater (San Diego)

Andrew will play the lead role of George Berger in the Old Globe’s production of Hair this summer.

Each year since 2014, the Kurt Weill Foundation has sponsored one or more Kurt Weill/Lotte Lenya Artists, who have earned distinction in the Lotte Lenya Competition, in both Young Artist Program and professional settings. The Foundation sponsors Lenya Competition alumni at both the “Artist” level, a designation reserved for principal roles in professional productions, and the “Young Artist” level within appropriate programs.
