Cabaret season begins anew at Café Sabarsky, part of the Neue Galerie, which has established itself as one of New York’s premiere venues for Mitteleuropäische cabaret. Kurt Weill gets a workout this spring, as several artists scheduled to appear will incorporate his songs into their programs. Mezzo-soprano Joyce Castle will lead things off on Thursday, 21 March, performing a varied program featuring Weill and William Bolcom with pianist Ted Taylor. Castle has a long and fruitful association with Weill’s music, on both the opera and recital stages. Other programs at the Café will feature Weill as well: Sanda Weigl (Bertolt Brecht’s niece) on 4 April, and Amy Burton with John Musto on 18 April.
