In association with the Dublin Theatre Festival, the world-renowned Gate Theatre presents a new production of The Threepenny Opera in English (translation by Ralph Manheim and John Willett). Known particularly for powerful interpretations of Beckett, the Gate first produced Threepenny in 1991, featuring Marianne Faithfull as Pirate Jenny. This season promises “a fierce social and political critique, vividly complemented by Weill’s amazing score.”
