Weill stalwarts James Holmes (bottom right) and Lisa Vroman (top right) headline a concert titled “Kurt Weill: Berlin, Paris, New York” given by the Symphony Silicon Valley in San Jose, CA on 12-13 January. The program features Kleine Dreigroschenmusik, Die sieben Todsünden with Vroman as Anna I, and a medley of Weill’s Broadway songs.
Vroman and Holmes both have a long history with Weill; not only do both of them have numerous performances under their belts, but both have served as judges for the Lotte Lenya Competition. Their combined talents promise idiomatic and rewarding renditions of some of Weill’s orchestral and vocal masterpieces.
